SOPHIA NAPOLI, WE LOVE YOU - INFO

Facebook - www.facebook.com CaringBridge - www.caringbridge.org BIO: Sophia Theresa Napoli was born on April 18, 2008 with her twin sister Isabella Theresa Napoli. Most likely she was born with the brain tumor that was removed on January 6th. Her surgery went very well and her wonderful doctor was able to remove most of the tumor. Unfortunately, the tumor is malignant. Her prognosis is very good and she is currently receiving chemotherapy. Sophia's Story: "At Christmas Eve Mass Sophia wasn't feeling well. She complained her head hurt, threw up, and then slept through Mass. During the week she was a little "off", threw up a couple times, and said her head hurt periodically. We thought she was fighting a virus. On Tuesday Jan. 3rd she returned to school. We got a call from the school nurse asking us to pick up Sophia as she was sick. "Just in case" we decide! d to take her to the doctor. The doctor ordered a CT scan and we opted to do so at Montefiore. Tuesday evening the CT scan showed a mass in Sophia's head and she was admitted. On Wednesday Sophia had an MRI which confirmed our fears. She had a tumor larger than a tennis ball which had completely taken over the left ventricle of her brain. Dr. James Goodrich was assigned to Sophia's case.
